Interlock, Jersey, Knit Terry, Velour that is 100% cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. Pre-shrinking fabric is optional. Sizes will vary if fabric is not pre-shrunk. A smaller garment size will result with cotton fabric that is not pre-shrunk.

*Special Note!* Garments containing metal fasteners should not be used on babies who are in isolettes/incubators. The metal parts can heat up to a degree that can cause burns. Snap tape containing plastic snaps, hook and loop tape and plastic buttons can be used as alternatives to metal snaps.
Notions: Thread.
Gown: size 14 long-prong snaps, seven for Newborn and six for Preemie, 3/8” wide elastic 1/2 yard, 2 yard fusible hem tape.
Union Suit: seven size 14 long-prong snaps for both sizes, 1 1/8 yard fusible hem tape.
Warming Cap: 1" long 3/4" wide hook and loop fastener.
Footed Pants: 1/2" wide elastic 1/2 yard, 1/4" wide elastic 1/4 yard.
Mitts: 1/8" wide elastic 1/3 yard and 1" long 3/4" wide hook and loop fastener.
Sewing Level: Easy!
Machines and Methods: Layette Basics can be sewn with a regular sewing machine only or in combination with a serger.
